Authors, Interpreters, and Competitors New Style in Hip-Hop
Coco and Sombel started street dancing in 2004 during their studies in Tolouse, France.
From jump they were in the immediately pulled into Funk Style. Little by little these two friends began to open up into other Hip hop disciplines such as New Stlye and House, notably at the JCC in Toulouse and at the Juste Debout School (Paris), where they were able to enrich their respective influences. Afterwards they completed their technical training in Locking and Popping with international dancers in Europe such as Bruce Ikanji (JD School), Mr. Wiggles & Sugar Pop (Electric Boogaloo, USA), Gucchon & Kei (Co ThKoo, Japan), Originality Lockers (Korea), P-Lock, Junior Almeida, Walid, …
As early as 2007, Coco and Sombel started to write their own plays, bringing together dance and comedy. This labor intensive creation competed in 2008-2009 which resulted in « L’amitié à emporter » Friendship to Go, which was an award winning play at the Hip Hop Festival Ways in Toulouse. The play has been performed on the finest stages in the region, with the ultimate blessing coming from the world of Hip Hop, during the Breakdance Battle « Olympic Trophee Master » where it was performed at the Zénith of Toulouse in front of 5000 spectators.
In conjunction with other aspects of creation, they have participated and won numerous dance battles in Locking and Popping in France and in Europe. Authors, interpreters and competitors, they continue their shared passion for dance striving to share with the largest possible number of people both novice and experienced; seeking to combine street art while using humor, born of their complicity.
