Choreographer and Dancer
Trained as both an engineer of the INSA and as a choreographer.
He trained in New York under the guideance of Merce Cunningham in postmodern American dance. Interpreted for David Gordon (founding member of the Judson Church postmodern movement). Early on he was interested in the melding of body language and the language of imagery: compositions with computers, high-tech sets real-time interaction. Choreographer and dancer for compagnie K. Danse, created upon his return to France in 1983. Anne Holst joined the company in 1998. Since 2000, the company has produced several original educational artistic projets. (shows/performances & workshops). They are accredited by the DRAC.
Jean-Marc MATOS has, among other things, created and directed, a special department « Art, Science, Dance Studies » at the I.N.S.A. of Toulouse, animated UV “écriture chorégraphique” at the University of Paris VIII, de a number of training courses “danse et image” for professional dancers (with the support of the D.D.T.E. of Paris and the A.N.P.E-Spectacle), workshops “danse et vidéo” in particular with Hip Hop dancers (Drancy, Toulouse, Manosque), as well as workshops and awareness modules « danse et nouvelles technologies» within the framework of compagnie K. Danse. He has taught at the L’Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Art in Cergy-Pontoise, at the University of Montpellier 2, University of Toulouse-Mirail (DESS multimedia and Montauban).
